Dear Eduardo

Do you remember the 'Who is Eduardo Munez?' project?

Did you send in an envelope?

You can watch this short film titled 'Dear Eduardo' for free on youtube now!

The 'Who is Eduardo Munez?' grand opening evening

Do you remember the envelopes I sent in that would be featured in a film, 'Who is Eduardo Munez?' ?

Well, most of the filming is complete, and Ruth Tapp and the EM crew held a ceremony in November where all the letters (500+) were opened!

Stripygoose was in attendance, and she kindly took some photos of my mail. In the first one you can see two of mine, plus part of one of Eva's, I think.

Thanks also to Eva, who first got me interested in this project.

Final Eduardo envelope

This is the last one... a mysterious 13th envelope.

I decided to use this idea for the April envelope exchange, too.

This style was inspired by this amazing calligraphic Jabberwocky poem.  Of course, mine was done on the computer.

Who is Eduardo - this was supposed to be the finale but the deadline was extended to April 30th!

This one really is not the last one. You still have time to send Eduardo something!!

I was playing around with all the Os in the address for Who is Eduardo Munez, thinking about using them as a large interchange station for another metro-themed envelope, when a different idea emerged.

This style also worked really well for Eva, stripygoose,  and MomKat. The printer didn't always cooperate perfectly, but that's life!

I also sent a couple out in Jean & Jan's March envelope exchange.

Who is Eduardo Munez part 8

I thought my spiral metro envelope was going to be the last one, but I was inspired at the last minute to send two more.

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but here's a letter box/mail slot selfie a la Eduardo (although I realized it is from the opposite side of the door).

Who is Eduardo Munez - part 7

This is a more 'filled in' version of a previous mysterious Eduardo Munez envelope.

And the same information in a spiral format.

The first envelope is not corn, or a church, or an electrical circuit, or an air port terminal map. It's not a seating chart, a game, a pill, a button hole attachment or a martian cribbage board. And it's not a football field, or a zipper. The stamps may have been a bit of a red herring, however I used them because the first image makes me think of corn.

It's an abstracted map of the Newcastle metro system. Here's the current official map.

Who is Eduardo Munez part 6

The Who is Eduardo Munez? has already ended.

Here's one of the last I sent in. Any guesses (without cheating) what this is based on?

Answers in a few days.

Moons!

USPS finally released a new global stamp on Feb 22 - and it is a beauty, featuring the full moon.

I have already sent out a few of them. One of my favorites is this one to Katerina in Greece - Greek airmail envelopes used to have blue edges, but lately she has been unable to find them - aargh, the slow death of snail mail.

Update!! The same week that Katerina received my 'Greek airmail' envelope, she found a stash of envelopes in a small shop - so she'll be sending them out again.

I also sent moons to Eduardo Munez, Bridget and Eva.

Who is Eduardo Munez part 4

OK, Ruth commented that filming doesn't start until March 21st, so step away from the computer *right now* and send an envelope (plus letter if you like) to the man in question and it will arrive in time to be in the film.

I sent him envelope number 575.

Who is Eduardo Munez part 3

Envelope 490 off to the mysterious Mr Munez.

The deadline is March 1st  21st, so if you are planning on sending envelopes in from the US you've got about 2 weeks about a month left to get them in the mail. There are some great envelopes on the EM envelope blog. They are up to 50+ envelopes, and they'd like to receive 100 - so if you'd like to see your envelope in a film, step away from the computer and send one right now!

Who is Eduardo Munez? part 2

Eva is the person who got me interested in the 'Who is Eduardo Munez?' project. This envelope was created at the same time as the one I made for the project.
