March exchange envelopes received

From Jean - love the vintage airmail stamps

From Florence - great idea to use the 3c star stamps with 20c stamps to get to 49.

From Marti - I like how she chose a couple of different things in the address to highlight with a thicker pen.

From Kathie, an envelope made from wrapping paper with lovely matching stamp.

And Nancy's envelope, where she used a fun ombré effect for my name, and extended the thistle the bird is perched on.

Up and down

A great collaged card from William.

Sunday stamps - invertebrates

Today's Sunday Stamps theme is invertebrates. Go here for links to more stamps.

Some time ago, Smash sent me this great envelope with a vintage stamp titled Synthetic Fuels, from a set of 4 designed by Charley Harper.

I have not received the others, however one of them is titled Fossil Fuels, and features the extinct trilobite.

Trilobites were marine arthropods, and had well-developed exoskeletons, which are readily fossilized. Over 17,000 species have been identified, and they were diverse in their biological niches.

A mysterious envelope arrives...

This came in the mail, large, and with many rubber stamps.

I was confused about it, until I opened it. Remember the (creepy to some) envelope I sent in for a mail art call on hair?

Turns out I was the only entrant, so I received a Pinky Post postal zine as consolation.

Fin(n)Badger

I don't have any sea mammals on stamps for this week's theme at Sunday Stamps. But I do have some on mail that arrived recently.

This beautiful envelope from Heleen arrived, accompanied by two more of the amazing December stamps.

And inside, an amazing creature - the underwater FinBadger. With a great platypus rubber stamp on the back of the envelope.

All sorts of goodies from the Minneapolis Gnome - caution tape, envelope, glasses, and a new minizine!

Fun on the back, too.

The collaboration returns

The collaboration with Keith continues inside this fantastic envelope.

The page is getting quite full. Will it be hard to know when to stop?

Letter Writers Alliance fab postage rates graphic

US postage rates went down yesterday for the first time in 98 years.

LWA has a fantastic summary graphic.

MMSA color bar postcards

I haven't had much chance to join in the MMSA swaps. Guest host Doris chose color bars - those squares and lines of color on cardboard packaging - as the topic.

I went with a stylized garden theme.

Three for the swap, and one for the host as a thank you.

This is the 'diet coke' garden and the underwater garden.

These two are the color garden and the midnight garden.

Colors

Eric sent me a wonderful envelope that is a reflection of the one I sent him. Mine arrived with no postmarks that I can tell.

Eric included this colorful card.

The rest of the March exchange envelopes

I spied a very large 2015 wall calendar that was being thrown out, so it was appropriated and turned into envelopes.

Numbers 775, 776 and 790 sent out. I thought the colors on the botanical art stamps  worked very well with the watercolors of the calendar envelopes.
